Lagos State Government (LASG) has conducted placement examination for Primary 6 pupils seeking admission into Public Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) in the State. A total of 144,275 students participated in this year’s placement test exercise.

A breakdown of the figure shows that 91,500 Pupils from the State Public Primary Schools and 52,775 Pupils from the Private Schools took part in the examinations.

During the monitoring of the exercise, the State Universal Basic Education Board Executive Chairman, Dr. Ganiyu Oluremi Sopeyin acknowledged the tremendous improvement in the conduct of this year’s exercise while noting that answer scripts known as the OMR sheets were customised in the names of all the pupils that took part in the test.

While condemning the situation whereby some parents and guardians wait till the test day before locating the pupils’ centres, Sopeyin extolled the sterling performance of all stakeholders who participated in the conduct of the test, stressing that challenges were quickly identified and easily addressed.

He added that the State Government would not relent in its efforts to provide qualitative and quantitative education in the State. (LASG)
