Successful candidates are expected to proceed to  Distance Learning Center University of Ibadan   after checking there names in any of the admissions batches to print there notification letter after which they proceed to any branch of Zenith Bank to pay there School fees.

1. Newly admitted students can now confirm their admission status and print Notification of Admission including Payment Advice on appropriate fees.
2. Successful candidates are expected to pay at any branch of Zenith Bank Plc Nationwide to Account Number 1012631620
3. The Confirmation Order Number (which would be issued by the Bank on payment) will give access to print Admission Letter on Distance Learning Center University of Ibadan
4. Print Admission Letter and proceed to register for appropriate courses.  Students are advised to consult the Course Prospectus/Regulations which is available on the Website for guidance.To view course prospectus click here.
5. Approval of Course Registration will be conveyed by email.
6. Details on Orientation, Matriculation, issuance of ID Cards and distribution of Course Materials, Interactive Session and personalized dedicated e-mail addresses to DL students are available in DLC Students Manual on the website.  Hard copies are available on request
7. Bonafide/Duly Registered DLC Students are entitled to one e-mail account with unlimited access

i Holders of Professional Diploma
in Statistics (PDS) of the University of
Ibadan or its equivalent from other
Universities are recognized.
ii Holders of National Diploma
(ND) in Statistics with a minimum of
Lower Credit, from any recognized
Polytechnic in Nigeria or its
equivalent outside Nigeria.

Two A /L passes in Chemistry and

minimum Credit Grade of 60-69%),

•   National Diploma (ND) in
relevant fields (Crop Production, Soil
Survey, Animal Health and Production,
Fisheries, Wildlife Management,
Forestry, Horticultural Science,
Agricultural Mechanization, Veterinary
Science, etc.) with a minimum of Upper
Credit (60-69%). The ND must be
obtained from Schools and Colleges
accredited by the National Board for
Technical Education (NBTE) and
recognized by the University of
Ibadan. The candidates must have satisfied the above minimum O/L
requirements.
Higher National Diploma (HND)
with a minimum of Upper Credit 60-
69% in relevant fields (as listed above)
will be exempted from the 12 months
practical programme observed at 400
Level if the candidate is admitted into
the programme that relates to the area of
his/her HND specialization. The
candidate must have satisfied the above
minimum O/L requirements.
DURATION: 6 Sessions
FACULTY OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCES
i. Department of Psychology
(4 Sessions)
Candidate must possess 2 A/L passes
including Government or History plus 5
O/L Credits at a sitting or 6 O/L Credits
at 2 sittings in English Language and a
pass in Mathematics and any one
subject from the Social Sciences.
• NCE: Not lower than a Credit
pass, HND: Not lower than a Credit
pass from any discipline, NURSING:
Registered with Nigerian Nursing and
Midwifery Council (RNM), B.Sc: Not
lower than a 3rd Class from any
discipline.

ii. Department of Economics

i. Candidates must have 2 A/L
Passes or its equivalent but O/L Credits
should include Mathematics and
Economics.
ii. In addition to the above
requirement, holders of HND/ND/
OND/NCE/Diploma Certificates in the
Faculties of The Social Sciences,
Sciences and Education of accredited
tertiary institutions can be admitted
without prejudice to prescribed O/L
requirements.
iii. Holders of Bachelors Degrees
from Arts, Education, and Social
Sciences may be admitted without

B.ED
(i) Holders of the NCE, GCE A/L or
its equivalent. In addition, Candidates
must have 5 Credits at O/L including
English Language at one sitting or 6
Credits at 2 sittings in SSCE /WAEC /
NECO, Merit or Credit passes in
TCII,in English Language and 4 other
Senate approved matriculating subjects
(details are as listed in the University

For Library, Archival and Information
Studies: Candidates must have at least a
pass in Mathematics and Diploma in
Librarianship at Merit level or Diploma
in any other field or NCE in any
discipline. Candidates will be allowed
to select a teaching subject from their
O/L results passed at Credit Level.

For Teacher Education: Candidates
must have Credit /merit in NCE or
Diploma in relevant subjects. In
addition, candidates must satisfy the
O/L requirement as for (i) above.
Holders of NCE/ Diploma in any
discipline may be considered for the 4-
Year programme in Teacher Education
but such candidates will be required to
select teaching subjects from their O/ L
results passed at Credit Level.

For Educational Management:
Candidates must have Credit in
English Language, Mathematics and
Economics in addition to 2 other
subjects in WASC/GCE O/L plus NCE
merit grade in any of the following:
Economics, Business Studies, Office
Practice, Accounting and Insurance.
Diploma in Statistics from a
recognized University and University
of Ibadan Professional Diploma in
Educational Management (with at least
an overall Merit Grade).

For Guidance and Counselling:
Candidates must have NCE in any field
or Diploma in any field. In addition,
candidates must satisfy the O/L
requirements as for (i) above.

For Human Kinetics: Candidates
must have NCE in Physical and Health
Education, Biology or Integrated
Science with overall grades of Merit or
University Diploma in Human
Kinetics and Health Education with an
overall grade of merit plus 5
Credits/Merits Including English
Language at one sitting or 6 Credits at 2
sittings in GCE O/L or SSCE/TCII/

For Health Education Unit: Diploma

For Social Work: Candidates must
have at least five credits in GCE O/L
/SSCE/NECO, including English
Language at one sitting or six credits at
two sittings for the five year
programme. Holders of Diploma or
OND in Social Work: NCE,General or
Mental Health , Nursing  Certificates, (R.N., RM etc) Diploma in Adult Education and Community Development, Diploma in Cooperative studies or Diploma in Industrial and Trade Unionism from Institutions recognized by the University of Ibadan for the 4 year programme.  Such candidates must satisfy the O'Level requirements as for one above.  Holders of first degree from the University of Ibadan who are interested in BSW may also apply.
Apart from the requirements specified for respective Departments in the Faculty of Education and the minimum O/L requirements for the University of Ibadan, candidates with a Merit Diploma in any field may apply to any Department of their choice.  Such candidates will, however, be required to select a teaching subject from their O/L results passed at Credit Level.  This is in addition to other Units that may be prescribed by the Department in respect of such candidates.
Maturity and Open Access requirements apply to all courses in Faculty of Education.
The following Teaching Subjects are available:  Arabic Language and Literature, Communication and Language Arts, Geography, Mathematics, history, Political Science, Religious Studies, Islamic Studies and Yoruba, English, French, Holders of Diploma  of accredited Universities may now apply to Departments to which they possess requisite qualifications.
DURATION OF COURSES: FACULTY OF ARTS, SCIENCE, EDUCATION AND THE SOCIAL SCIENCES: 4 & 5 Sessions 
DURATION INTO FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE: 6 Sessions
IMPORTANT NOTICE
A.   Maturity Criteria (for 5 Years Programmes Only)
Candidates who do not possess the above qualifications any apply on the grounds of maturity/work experience.  Such candidates must be at least 26 years old and must provide the following information:  Academic qualification, Professional experience, Self appraisal of Professional Competence, recommendation from competent individuals.  An oral interview/literacy test would be part of their selection process (further details online).
B.  Open Access Initiative
(a) Notwithstanding other specific or general requirements, holders of OND, HND and University Diplomas may apply to any Department of their choice for 4-year programmes provided they possess requisite O/L requirements.
(b). Bachelors Degree and Postgraduate Degree holders may apply freely to any Department.
C.  Fast Track
Candidates with HND, Bachelor and Higher Degrees can be considered for a fast track programme.
D.  Learning Resources/Media
Learning Resources are online in downloadable format on DLC Portal. They are also available in CD, DVD, Audio Book fomats and Video.  Printed versions will be available at subsidized rates.  Audio resources are available in the Social Sciences.  The University Radio Diamond FM.101 is now being used for lectures and tutorials.  The scheduled will be available online.
E. Orientation and Matriculation
Orientation and Matriculation provide opportunities for students to interact and socialize with fellow students on regular and distance learning mode.  It also affords them the opportunity to integrate and be familiar with University's culture and traditions.  Academic Counsellors, Advisors, Service Providers and Tutors will be available to assist students during the period.
F. Information/Students Support    Opportunities are also available
INTERACTIVE SESSIONS:  Candidates are expected to have registered and obtained their Learning Materials at the beginning of the session, which starts when  DLC UI students register for courses.  Interactive sessions are designed for revision and contact between students and tutors.  During this period, students are required to be in residence for between three to six weeks for revision depending on the course. Thereafter students will be given opportunity to revise for about two weeks before  examinations. However, between the collection of Learning Materials and interactive session, each student will be attached to an Academic Advisor for Tutorial assistance.   Also, students will be encouraged to form tutorial and revision groups both online or at designated Centres. Students who have obtained sufficient support may apply to be excused from the interactive session; however, students are to ensure participation in ALL assignments and Continuous Assessments (CA).
Please NOTE that students are expected to have studied the course materials with the tutorial support by Academic Advisors before interactive sessions. Also, some assignments and tests will be given during the period and these will count as part of assessment.

G.  Accommodation
DLC assists students to obtain less expensive accommodation within Ibadan location.  But students must apply formally well-ahead of time and make financial commitments.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Application Fee is N10, 500 only obtainable through:
1.   Applicant walks into the banking hall and request to pay for 2011/2012  UIDLC APPLICATION FORM in any branch of  Zenith Bank
2.   The student fills teller with the account number 1130021628.
3.   The Teller/ Cashier post transaction on XPath Platform and a receipt is generated for the applicant.
4.   The Teller / Cashier hands over the receipt or printout containing PIN / Confirmation Order Number (CON) to the applicant for registration online
5.   Applicant proceed ONLINE  FOR REGISTRATION on [ur
l]http://portal.dlc.ui.edu.ng[/url] and SIGN UP with the Confirmation Order Number (CON) received from the Bank and then fills the form.
