University of Ilorin Admissions Into Post Doctoral Degree In Education Programme

ADMISSIONS INTO THE POST DOCTORAL DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION (PDDE) PROGRAMME IN THE RAIN SEMESTER OF THE 2011/2012 ACADEMIC SESSION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) Post Doctoral Diploma in Education (PDDE) programme.

A. PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

The Programme is designed, particularly, among others; to assist Lecturers who are Ph.D. holders in tertiary institutions acquire relevant competencies in various teaching skills, interpersonal relationships, lecture room management, pedagogy, gender sensitivity, students' assessment, and higher institution administration. The Programme is also designed to qualify them to be registrable with the Teachers Registration Council, Nigeria (TRCN) as professionally trained teachers.

B. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Ph.D. or its equivalent (e.g. Fellowship of appropriate Colleges in Health/ Medicine).

C. DURATION OF PROGRAMME

The P.D.D.E shall be run on a distance learning basis which shall normally last for a minimum of one calendar year (two semesters) and a maximum of two calendar years.

D. COURSE DELIVERY SYSTEM

Courses will be offered through online instruction (online downloadable forms) and mobile digital forms (CD, DVD, mobile applications, etc) for students pursuing the PDDE programme. Final examinations will be based on resident examination within the Main Campus of the University and designated Centres. However, the University may make changes in policies and procedures for course delivery and examinations at any time.
