According to the latest FIFA ranking released in Zurich, the Super Eagles have continued in their steady decline as Nigeria dropped by three positions.

The Eagles who ranked 57th in the previous release fell three places to occupy the 60th position in world football.

Co-incidentally, Nigeria's opponents in Thursday's international friendly match to be played in Dubai, Egypt, goes five places above Nigeria. Egypt is now ranked 55th in the world and eight in Africa.

Nigeria has 554 points in the latest rankings, three less than it had in March.
Nigeria also dropped from ninth to 10th in Africa, sinking to one of its lowest ever positions on the global and continental scales.

Ivory Coast is the highest ranked African country on 15th position, closely followed by Ghana who is second in Africa and 22nd in the World.

The Africa Cup of Nations defending champions, Zambia, climbed a step upward to 40th position. This is the first time since February 2001 Zambia has made it to the top 40.

Since 1994 when Nigeria occupied the 5th position in World football, the country has not come close to the top on the Ranking.
