The management of University of Ibadan (UI) has expelled about 78 students from the institution over their poor academic performance as they failed to obtain the minimum academic requirements for the 2012/2013 session.
.
The affected students, who are from 13 faculties, have been asked to withdraw based on the recommendation of the University's Senate which sat in May 2014.
.
A breakdown of the expelled students shows that six of the students gained admission into the university through the Direct Entry (DE) mode, 66 through University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) while six got into the university through UME.
.
The Registrar of UI, Olujimi Olukoya, in his a statement said that the University of Ibadan would continue to uphold the highest standards which the institution had been known for.
.
It is now left for the students to take their academic work serious so as not to fall victim of the regulations.
