The Lagos State Government has approved 29 new schools in order to curb the menace of examination malpractice caused by 'miracle centres' in the state.
.
Handing over the letters of approval to proprietors of the 29 newly approved schools, the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye, urged the proprietors not to allow their schools be used for examination malpractice.
.
Oladunjoye noted that many pupils who go to 'miracle centres' find it difficult to cope when they eventually gain admission into higher institutions of learning.
.
She advised the proprietors to ensure that primary school pupils finish primary six before registering them for the screening test for the model colleges' examination or placement tests for other public secondary schools.
