Nigeria has proposed a training tour of Mauritius or South Africa ahead of the crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar on September 4.

Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, told reporters yesterday that the proposal was one of the strategies which the national coaches had brought before the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for consideration.

Nigeria now faces a Herculean task in its bid to secure an automatic qualification for the Nations Cup which holds in Equatorial Guinea/ Gabon next year, after failing to take the full honours against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa last Sunday.

They will stand a realistic chance of achieving their objective of overhauling Guinea if they beat Madagascar in Antananarivo in the penultimate fixture in African qualifying Group B.

Siasia told reporters that he needed to bring the team together for some days outside the country before the trip to massive island separated from the continent by the Indian Ocean.

In his opinion, Mauritius, which flanks Madagascar on the eastern side of the ocean, with similar climatic conditions, would provide a perfect build up for the all important fixture.

Siasia insisted that Nigeria's preparation for the trip to Addis Ababa was tardy as the players were tired after arriving in Ethiopia on the eve of the match.

"It is still early to talk about our preparations for the next match, but we were tired when we got to Ethiopia. We want to consider camping in Mauritius or South Africa ahead of Madagascar," said Siasia.

He also said that he was not under any pressure to get a result in Antananarivo in spite of the failure of the team to beat Ethiopia.
