2nd & 3rd February 2011 - Lagos, Nigeria

Mobile Web West Africa (www.mobilewestafrica.com) is the third in a series of annual events being organised by UK based company All Amber with the intention of advancing the development of the mobile web and mobile applications in Africa.  Innovative and progressive in their nature this event promises to bring together the major stakeholder groups and to act as an enabler in the development of the mobile ecosystem in West Africa.

The previous events (Mobile Web in Africa 2009, Mobile Web in Africa 2010 as well as Mobile Web East Africa) have all been hugely successful.  This success is not simply the fact that they have been extremely well attended or been fantastic forums for knowledge sharing and interacting but vitally because they have achieved the overarching objectives of assisting the growth of the mobile ecosystem and raising awareness of the potential of the mobile web and applications.  These are the two core aims of the event because All Amber believes that if these can be achieved then true capacity development will follow and a strong sub-section of the Private Sector will be created.

To date 81% of attendees at All Amber's previous events have stated that the event is "better or much better" than any other conference that they have ever attended. We hope that Mobile Web West Africa will be an absolutely stand out conference – which will deliver value to all of the attendees as well as highlight the potential of the mobile web and applications.

To create the right conditions to facilitate development in this key industry sector, the understanding of the importance of the topic area and the necessary interaction required to facilitate growth All Amber has put in place a range of different measures including:
•   A unique roundtable seating format which not only enhances interaction but will also offer all attendees improved networking and superior outputs.
•   Subsidised ticket pricing for mobile start-up companies, mobile focused entrepreneurs, developers, developmental organisations and students to allow a complete cross section of relevant individuals to attend by removing, as far as possible, the fiscal hurdle.
•   Confirmed contributions from leading individuals from South Africa, which because of its more developed mobile web marketplace, can offer vital insights into the core areas that need to be focused upon for the huge potential that exists to be fully realised.
•   An agenda that focuses on the complete spectrum of mobile web and application topic areas including:
-   The Operator perspective and role in the development
-   The potential that exists in mobile marketing
-   The core area of mobile social networking
-   Mobile web content and services
-   How the mobile web and applications can be exploited for developmental purposes
-   Creating the next general of mobile entrepreneurs
-   Successful mobile application development
•   An Open Microphone Session in the afternoon of the second day of the event.  The open nature of these 90 minutes will allow any attendee to take the podium and deliver 5 minutes of material from any perspective in relation to the development of mobile before a brief question and answer session.
•   An mobile application competition which allows young mobile developers to demonstrate their latest applications to the delegation.

Further information will be provided about the events.
