The Police in Niger state have arrested  a 4-man  robbery gang that are allegedly specialised in robbing  motorists of their cars at gun points across the country.

The Niger state Commissioner of Police, Desire  Nsirim who revealed this to Channels Television in Minna, the Niger state capital, explained that  the suspects confessed to have snatched cars at gun points  all over the country.

The Police boss claimed the gang confessed to have recently robbed a lady of her  white coloured Toyota Highlander (SUV)  at gun point at Ebute in Ibeju Lekki  Local Government Development Authority of Lagos state.

Other vehicles recovered from the four man gang include two unregistered Toyota Camry cars and two Nissan Sunny cars with registration numbers: Lagos BZ 900JJJ and Lagos GR532EKY.

Mrs Nsirim explained that the suspects were on their way  to sell the vehicles in the north when they were arrested by men of the Niger state Police  command who were on a routine patrol along the ever busy Lagos-Kaduna road.

She further attributed the reduction of crime rate in the state to the proactive measures of the command.
