DAME extends closing date for 2013 edition

The Diamond Awards for Media Excellence, DAME, has extended entries for its 22nd edition of the awards to August 29, 2013.The initial closing date for submission was August 14, 2013.

A statement from the DAME secretariat said the two-week extension is to allow for wider participation and cover lost grounds occasioned by the recent public holidays.

DAME had on July 9, invited entries in 30 categories in the broad disciplines of Print Journalism, Broadcasting and Advertising.

The DAME trustee and CEO of Diamond Publications Limited, Mr. Lanre Idowu, had at a press briefing in Lagos, said by inviting entries in 17 print journalism categories, seven in advertising and six in broadcasting, DAME is consolidating the success of the previous years.

The categories include: Action Photography, Agriculture Reporting, Child-Friendly Journalist, Child-Friendly Media, Development Reporting, Editorial Cartooning, Editorial Writing, Health Reporting, Informed Commentary, Insurance Reporting, Judicial Reporting and Political Reporting.

Others are: Press Advert of the Year-Services, Press Advert of the Year-Consumer Goods, Radio Commercial of the Year-Services, Radio Commercial of the Year-Consumer Goods, Television Commercial of the Year-Services, Radio Reporter of the Year, Radio Presenter of the Year, Radio Drama of the Year, and TV Reporter of the Year.
