The younger brother to an Onitsha-based transport magnet, Chief G.U.O Okeke was yesterday kidnapped in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The kidnap victim, Mr. Daniel Okeke, was kidnapped in front of his Amobi Street residence in Onitsha, at 7.00am.

A resident of the area said that Mr. Okeke was about preparing for the day's business when the abductors arrived.

Nigerian Compass gathered that the bus in which the abductors operated was later spotted at Ugwunabamkpa area of Onitsha when the abductors wanted to snatch another vehicle and possibly dump their own, to avoid easy identification.

Contacted, the Acting Police Public Relations Officer for Anambra state Mr. Emeka Chukwuemeka confirmed the incident.

He said that although he was yet to receive official signal from Onitsha, the state Police Command had mobilized all arsenals to track down the kidnappers and get the victim released.
