Job Title: Study Coordinator

Location: Abuja, Nigeria

OFFICE/DEPARTMENT: A FOGARTY Study on Caries/Oral Microbiome Study in Benin

SCHEDULED WORK TIMES: Monday – Friday

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

•   Minimum requirement is Basic Nursing/ Midwifery Training

•   Previous experience working in a research oriented environment is a plus

•   Additional qualifications including degrees in Nursing, MPH etc. is a plus

•   Working experience in a research environment will be an advantage

•   Good organizational skills

•   Good computer skills

•   Excellent communication skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Interviewer is responsible for but not limited to:

•   Assessing the eligibility of potential participants through methods such as screening interviews, review of medical records, and discussions with physicians, nurses and laboratory staff.

•   Implements, collects and maintains data collection of all forms of research data.

•   Ensures the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research (including sample and data collection)

•   Recruits, instructs and coordinates research participants (this includes seeking informed consent)

•   Acts as the primary administrative point of contact for local clinical and laboratory staff (this includes physicians, dentists, nurses etc.)

•   Ensures that standard operative procedures are adhered to.

•   Communicates updates on a regular basis to UBTH and UMB investigators within a weekly meeting. Coordinate the labeling, collection, storage and transfer of samples related to the study while maintaining a complete laboratory database.
