Buhari Will Present 2020 Budget Proposal To NASS On Tuesday – Presidency

President Muhammadu BuhariThe Presidency has said President Muhammadu Buhari will present the 2020 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly today, Tuesday, October 8th, 2019.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, revealed this at the end of an intense meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

Adesina said, “No briefing, we only looked at what we will present at the National Assembly tomorrow”

Buhari is expected to lay the 2020 budget before a joint session of the Senate and House of Representatives on Oct. 8 for approval, “as the country intends to revert to the January to December budget cycle.”

Last week, the Senate increased the proposed 2020 budget from N10.007 billion to N10.729trillion.

We await his presentation.

Muhammadu Buhari GCFR (born 17 December 1942) is a Nigerian politician currently serving as the President of Nigeria, in office since 2015. This marked the first time in the history of Nigeria that an incumbent president lost to an opposition candidate in a general election. He was sworn in on 29 May 2015. In February 2019, Buhari was re-elected President, defeating his closest rival Atiku Abubakar by over 3 million votes.

Buhari has stated that he takes responsibility for anything over which he presided during his military rule, and that he cannot change the past. He has described himself as a “converted democrat”.

Muhammadu Buhari was born to a Fulani family on 17 December 1942, in Daura, Katsina State, to his father Hardo Adamu, a Fulani chief, and mother Zulaihat.[1][2] He is the twenty-third child of his father. Buhari was raised by his mother, after his father died when he was about four years old.
