Two police officers are said to have been killed in Isu, while others were killed in Onicha Igboeze. During the incident, two lawyers were also alleged to have been killed by the shooters. The two lawyers were in a vehicle when they were approached by shooters in a Lexus SUV, according to reports. The intruders were reported to have slain the lawyers, set fire to the SUV they were driving, and then fled with the lawyers’ vehicle.

During a shootout with agents of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, a suspected kidnapper was slain by a member of his gang. According to reports, the deceased, named as Funmi Adenuoye, was accidentally shot dead by his colleague, Kunle, while attempting to flee from Amotekun Corps troops pursuing them during a kidnapping operation. The deceased and two of his gang members, Kunle and Tayo Ibrahim, were also said to have abducted a 58-year-old cement merchant, Alhaji Shakirudeen, in Ogun State on Wednesday. According to a source, the three kidnappers drove their victim to Okitipupa, Ondo State, with the purpose of negotiating a ransom there. The Amotekun Corps, on the other hand, struck and arrested Ibrahim, while Kunle fled. The Amotekun Corps was believed to be on the lookout for the kidnappers. “Our trustworthy intelligence network picked that certain criminals are driving carelessly,” said Amotekun Commander Chief Adetunji Adeleye. We didn’t know what was in the truck at the time, but their driving suggested concerns. So we set up an ambush for them in Ondo State’s Okitipupa area and apprehended them. “They engaged our men in a shootout and we were able to eventually secure the release of the victim, Alhaji Shakirudeen. We also arrested Tayo Ibrahim, who negotiated with the victim for a ransom of N10m while on the road.” The Amotekun boss also revealed that two [...]
