Shortly after the death of Dr. Olatunde Agbato, a lot of dignitaries have taken to the web their sympathy.

A very distinguished note by Adeyemi Adefulu, MFR reads:

“Shakespeare once stated that when beggars die, there are no comets seen. The heavens themselves bring forth the death of princes.” In Agbato’s departure, the elephant has fallen and one huge tree that made a forest has fallen with it. Erin wo!

“Dr. Olatunde Agbato was a prince and a man of sterling qualities so humble and self effacing that he often passed unnoticed. But he left hefty imprints in the sands of time. Agbato, the animal scientist, was a businessman’s businessman, a good great icon indeed. He was a phenomenal entrepreneur who dared to thread where several fled from. He was, an unmistakably, a gentleman of good bearing and humility.

“Located right in the centre of Ogun State, his Animal Care Services was a city set on a hill that could not be hidden. It is a sprawling agricultural showpiece to Ogun State and indeed, Nigeria. It stood out in excellence, hard work and never say die. He daily showed and proved that we don’t have to be fed by Thailand with rice nor beef, chicken or any meat by Argentina. All it took for us to feed ourselves and to be exporters of food, was for us to bend down and use our heads and work hard. Agbato led the way. But he was no talker, this man preached with his life and established an enterprise respected in Africa, Europe, Asia and others. He was a vintage Ijebu businessman, turning round the pennies. He was an employer of thousands of people directly and indirectly.

This man came, he saw and he conquered the hills and valleys of Ogere bestriding the space like a colossus. The man of faith and vision evidently saw into the sands of time and pursued a business line to which we as a nation must return after the foolery of oil boom has evaporated. Agbato was an uncommon visionary, a doer of great deeds who saw tomorrow.

“May God console his family and the entire Agbato and Animal Care Family. May he guide them into a new direction for the business so that all that Olatunde Agbato laboured for will not be in vain. May his gentle soul Rest In Peace.” It ended.
