Job Title: HSE Manager

We currently have a role for an HSE Manager to join our team located in the territorial waters of Nigeria. The candidate must have a minimum of 10years experience in the offshore drilling industry.
Purpose of Role: The HSEQ Manager, reporting to the Operations Manager, will be responsible for providing HSE input and support to the well operations team both offshore and onshore.
Key Tasks
• Works with the well operations team to improve safety standards,
• Carry out safety and environmental inspection visits to drill rigs/sites,
• Plan HSE Management System Audit programmes and regular system reviews of drilling contractor and 3rd party service companies,
• Attends (as required) morning calls and other HSE operational calls with Drilling Superintendents and Supervisors,
• Prepares agenda and schedule for monthly safety meetings and communicates minutes to the well ops team,
• Ensure that HSE retains high visibility throughout well operations both on and offshore,
• Liaise with drilling contractors & 3rd party subcontractors onshore to ensure quality of service,
• Report all incidents and accidents as per company incident & accident classification guidelines,
• Agree and follow up on corrective actions resulting from any incident and accident report,
• Keep up to date records of Safety metrics and monitor performance against KPI's,
• Ensure Risk assessment & Hazard management process is applied to all major campaigns and that risk registers are maintained along with lessons learnt,
• Establish and ensure compliance with Company minimum safety training standards,
• Makes sure that all operations HSE legislative requirements are complied with,
• Oil spill contingency and environmental impact evaluation of the well construction process,
• Regularly communicates relevant safety information to the well ops team,
• Visits offshore on a regular basis,
• Work planning and scheduling,
• Develop/Control/Implement SMS for well operations,
• Keep good relationship and liaise regularly with the OMV HSE department,
• Update of HSE policies and procedures and input to changes in the Safety Management System (SMS),
• Carrying out and reporting of internal/external audits,
• Developing and implementing Contractor HSE Management process including HSE evaluation,
• Monitor and maintain STOP Program database on all major well operations activities and identify unsafe trends,
• Be available for 'call out' for urgent and emergency requirements out with normal working hours,
• Participate in training courses as required
Qualifications/Experience:
• Experience in upstream industry/HSE activities is Essential
• Minimum 10 Years' experience with at least 5years of experience in Drilling HSE. A minimum of 3years experience as HSE Manager in Drilling.
• Degree Qualified
• BOSIET required for periodic trips to the rig.
