University of Cape Town is offering master bursaries for South African students who intend to commence with their Master's dissertation at the University of Cape Town in 2014. The bursary will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Only candidates with a final BSc(Eng) or Honours degree mark of 60% and above are eligible to apply. The value of the bursary is R20, 000 for one year. Applications should be submitted till 28th February 2014.

Study Subject(s): Bursaries are awarded for conducting research that makes an impact on civil society. The students will be required to conduct their dissertation research project in collaboration with a community partner facilitated through the UCT Knowledge Co-op. Any field of study will be considered.

How to Apply: Applicants should apply by post. All applications should include:

-a letter of application, also stating which topic the candidate envisages taking on for their dissertation;

-a one page CV;

-certified copies of academic transcripts; and

-names and contact details of at least two academics who have taught, supervised or worked alongside the applicant.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The application deadline is 28th February 2014.
