Job Title: Installation and Interfaces Engineer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Recruiter: Deep Blue Energy Services Limited (DBESL)

Sector: Energy, Oil and Gas

ACTIVITIES:

During CFT and basic design period up to Contract Award:-

•    Ensure implementation in his/her own discipline of all HSE and QC requirements and report to SPS Engineering Manager on any deviation

•    Follow-up of Basic Engineering (BE) Contractors activities related to Tie-in and Connection Systems, in accordance with the BE schedule requirements, in order to ensure compliance with Company / Project specifications and Field Development needs.

•    Liaison with other SPS Company disciplines to ensure that installation needs and constraints are fully considered and reflected in equipment and system design specifications developed by the BE Contractor

•    Review / development of the schedule for SPS interfaces to ensure coherency of design and equipment supply dates between the SPS packages. Close liaison with planning will be required.

•    Review the definition of the proposed SPS Qualification and Systems Testing programmes, ensuring that  concerns are adequately addressed.

•    Review / development of the SPS Scope of Supply document for Connection / Tie-in Systems, IMR tooling and equipment supply to the  Contract – production equipment, test equipment, installation aids and spares – to ensure it is complete and in accordance with both SPS Contract needs.

•    Manage the production of the BE Design Dossier for Tie-In / Connection systems and Inspection Maintenance and Repair (IMR) to be in line with the schedule for issue of the SPS Call For Tender.

•    The evaluation and reporting of the execution of  the BE Contractor's scope of work including, as required, the identification and management of any required remedial actions

•    Evaluation of the commercial aspects of the CFT Exhibits for the SPS as they effect Tie-In / Connection Systems.

•    Liaison with Company specialists within technical department to ensure conformance of proposed designs with, or for approval to derogate from, Company specifications

•    Inter-package coordination with Company Project teams to ensure coherency of cross package design and project execution interfaces

•    Report to the SPS Engineering Manager formally, on a weekly and monthly basis, and on an ad-hoc basis with respect to Equipment Qualification and Systems Testing activities

•    Participate to preparation of the CFT Appraisal Procedures and Documentation.

•    Assist in evaluation of the responses to the CFT and in preparation of the Recommendation To Award (RTA) for the SPS Contract

•    Assist in the resolution of technical and execution related queries from both the BE Contractor and Company teams. Review proposed deviations and give recommendation for project management approval

•    Review and evaluation of BE Contractor documentation within the prescribed period

•    Organise and / or represent Company for Tie-In / Connection Systems, interfaces and IMR related matters in meetings with the BE Contractor, Company Project Teams and Corporate entities

Post Contract Award, the SPS team will be expanded and its structure modified to reflect the selected Contractor's organisation. It is anticipated that the SPS Company team will be aligned into Technical compliance and Equipment delivery; the former will monitor Contractor performance to ensure conformance with the engineering specifications whilst the latter will be tasked with assuring execution of the work is conducted in accordance with Contract objectives and requirements. Continuity of personnel is seen as key to the success of the Project and personnel will transition to post Contract Award with a leading role, within their discipline, assigned either within the Engineering or Delivery teams according to the successful candidate's experience and competencies.

•    To report to Management on any issue they may face or observe and propose way of improvement.

•     To also take care of colleagues safety and behavior without hesitating to intervene as much as necessary.    

•     To give his own input and making sure the workplace is safe (obviously clean and tidy).                                          

•      In doubt to ask questions to gain clarification.          

•     To fully comply with Security rules about Travelling in Nigeria.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT:

•    Assist the SPS Engineering Manager in preparation of the Basic Engineering (BE) Design Dossier and Call For Tender (CFT) package for the SPS.

•    Provide specialist support for supervision of the BE Contractor for Subsea Tie-in ./ Connection systems and Inspection Maintenance Repair (IMR) related elements of the SPS

•    Provide inter package coordination between SPS and UFR to ensure that SPS equipment designs are developed in accordance with  transportation, handling, installation and commissioning needs

•    Participate to tender evaluation of CFT responses and in preparation of the Recommendation To Award (RTA).

NECESSARY PROFILE:

•    Education: Professional engineer

•    Qualification: >10 years experience with Subsea Production Systems with relevant experience of Tie-In / Connection system and Inspection Maintenance Repair (IMR) related activities. A strong preference for offshore installation experience of SPS equipment with previous experience of Company / Operator Representation during FEED / BE Studies and / or detailed design viewed as advantageous

•    Mobility: Dependent upon Basic Engineering Contractor location but initial placement is envisaged as primarily in Nigeria with the potential for international trips.

•    Language: English fluent
