Job Summary: The job holder will be responsible for the provision of IT support and help-desk to end-users in the Commission and will report to the Head of the unit.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provides support in the implementation, and then management of network security on a daily basis for the whole Commission to ensure safety of all staff data.
2. Performs troubleshooting of faulty systems, data recovery and archiving, and periodic system backups
3. Installs all relevant and up-to-date software the Commission approves of to create user's ease of use hereby increasing work output and efficiency
4. Maintains the Commission's IT assets
5. Co-ordinates with and assist other departments within the Commission in their various projects, seminars, workshops, meetings, and presentations
6. Effects as designed by the Manager IT, the development and maintenance of the Commission's ICT infrastructure
7. Carries out all help desk support activities as and when required
Person Specification:
Required Knowledge and Skills:
1. Knowledge of common industry troubleshooting and support
2. Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies
3. Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills
4. High competencies in Network Administration, Management and delivery
5. Strong and demonstrated competencies in solution delivery
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
7. Able to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform
8. Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
Educational Background:
1. A minimum of B.Sc. Engineering, Electronics, Computer science and/or related fields
2. A professional certification in relevant field will be an added advantage
Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role
