The Department of History and Welsh History at Aberystwyth University is offering PhD studentships under the university's DCDS (Doctoral Career Development Scholarship) scheme. Up to three studentships are awarded for UK and international students to cover full tuition fees for the three years of the PhD programme. To be eligible for this studentship, students must commence their doctoral study in September 2013. Applications are open till 1 June 2013.

Eligibility:  To be eligible you must:

-have at least an upper second class honours in your first degree, and be studying for or have completed a Master's degree in an appropriate subject area

-apply and be offered a place for doctoral study at Aberystwyth

-achievement of 7.0 in IELTS, or equivalent, as the normal case, for non-UK students (before the end of March 2013 at the latest)

-be commencing your doctoral study in September 2013.

Scholarship Description: The Department of History and Welsh History, Aberystwyth University, is pleased to announce up to three new PhD studentships for 2013, under the university's DCDS (Doctoral Career Development Scholarship) scheme. The DCDS awards offer a package of research, training and career development for full-time PhD students, tailored to enable students to enhance their research, teaching and transferable skills.

Number of award(s): The Department is offering up to three awards under the DCDS scheme.

 Duration of award(s): Studentships are offered up to three years.

What does it cover? These awards will cover full tuition fees for the three years of the PhD for UK/EU students, and a contribution of up to £3900 pa. for non UK/EU students.

How to Apply: All PhD applications received by the Department of History and Welsh History by this date will be automatically considered for these DCDS awards.
