Hyperic HQ 4.0 is a network software that monitors and manages resources and devices on a network.
This web software helps you to organize, monitor and manage all the resources available on your network. HQ installs the server and the HQ Agent and through the dashboard we can control and monitor all the network resources.
The HQ Agent installed on the machines of your environment automatically will detect the software resources available on themselves. Some information that gathers are: vendor, version, platform's architecture, RAM, CPU speed, IP address, etc.

Hyperic allows organizing the software resources that the HQ Agent gathers. It monitors your network environment reflecting metrics that collects HQ Agents like performance, availability, usage, etc. It controls and manages your software resources by using the HQ remote controlling. This software allows setting alerts on certain metrics and configuring actions for those alerts; it allows notifying using email and it can define a sequence of steps to ensure that the problems are solved. Also to take decisions it has a highly configurable user interface for analyzing performance and availability.

Its GUI is customizable so it depends on you how you would like it. The installation process is very easy to perform and it takes many minutes to install the complete program (Database, dashboard and HQ Agent); also this installation program works just to install the HQ agent on other network devices. The installation is very complete and is imperative to read it before to use this software.

Hyperic HQ needs to run 1 GHz or higher Pentium 4, or equivalent (2 x 2.4GHz Pentium Xeon or equivalent recommended), 1 GB RAM (4 or more GB recommended) and 1-5 GB Free Disk space. It works in Linux, Solaris 10 or higher, Mac OS X (Intel x86) and Windows 2003 Server platforms.
