Reports To:   Director-IT Strategy, Architecture and Planning

Job Summary:

Execute Etisalat Nigeria's enterprise data strategy through collaboration with key business stakeholders in the development and refinement of requirements for end user reporting, KPIs and analytics aimed at enhancing business performance

Effectively manage own team and relationships with all implementation partners towards successful execution of Etisalat Nigeria's enterprise data strategy

Principal Functions:

Own and drive the enterprise data strategy for Etisalat Nigeria; co-ordinate the development,  and implementation of technology plans for improving business reporting and analytics; manage the roadmap

Contribute to all strategic initiatives and decisions which impact data management within Etisalat Nigeria, e.g ILM and other divisional policies and procedures

Work with relevant teams to ensure high data quality and regularly publish any related compliance/ control reports

Manage the reporting and analytics platform(s) to ensure that scheduled jobs are successfully and timely run; ensure swift closure of any issues and timely escalations for the attention of senior management where support is required

Work with database and application administrators to ensure that source systems feeding reporting/ analytics platform(s) are tuned for optimal performance and data integrity is never compromised

Manage day-to-day activities of the enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence team; ensure high employee engagement, morale and motivation for the team in order to deliver high quality outcomes

Work with the business community, analysts and product and project managers to develop and refine reporting requirements; ensure such requirements are delivered in line with user expectations

Work with power users of reporting and analytics platform(s) to advise on best practices to deliver superior end user experience

Engage frequently with capacity management team(s) and the wider business community to ensure required capacity and capabilities are ahead of demand

Define data storage and lifecycle requirements; liaise with relevant teams to ensure implementation

Ensure that all related O&M activities are performed timely and in line with business expectations

Ensure all systems and related process documentation is kept up to date

Ensure that SLAs agreed with vendors are achieved

Attend team/ divisional/ departmental meetings as required

Perform any other duties assigned by the Director-IT Strategy, Architecture and Planning

Educational Requirements:

First degree in a relevant discipline

Postgraduate/ professional qualification in a related field will provide an advantage

Experience & Skills:

At least 5 years directly relevant post-NYSC work experience, including 2 years experience in administering a business intelligence platform

Ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate technical and behavioural experience and competencies in the following areas:

•   Strong data analysis skills, including expert-level proficiency in Structured Query Language (preferably Oracle)

•   Excellent written and oral communication skills

•   Good people and stakeholder management skills, including experience in engaging with multiple management levels across technical users and business units as well as working with database developers to ensure reporting data sources are optimally tuned for reporting

•   Ability to deliver consistently in a high-pressure work environment
