Title: South Africa: African Origins Platform Technical Skills Call
Post by: sparrow on Dec 04, 2010, 09:01 AM
In recognition of the important role played by technical personnel (excavators, fossil curators and casters) in the support of research in the palaeosciences, the Department of Science and Technology has been successful in accessing and providing additional funding for this purpose under the auspices of the African Origins Platform in 2010/11.

The African Origins Platform Technical Skills call is thus an extraordinary competitive call, in response to the human capacity constraints highlighted by the Archaeology and Palaeontology research community.

Owing to the fortuitous nature of the funding, the call timeframes are very short, to enable awards to be made in December 2010, for commencement of funding in 2011.

- The call opens on 26 November 2010 with the circulation of the call notification and application templates.
- The call will close at 10am on Tuesday, 7 December

Please consult the call document and application template for further information.

Enquires can be directed to:
