JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Services Lead has accountability to lead, coordinate, and direct the Project Services team members which will provide services covering the following broad areas of:

Risk Management, Project Planning & Scheduling, Cost Engineering and Project Reporting and as detailed below:

1. Implement the project management systems and controls that are required to support the effective execution of projects.

2. Maintain and enhance project controls processes and systems (Change Management, Risk Management, Schedule Management, Cost Management, Performance Reporting).

3. Ensure project controls processes are up-to-date and compliant with Shell global standards. Ensure risk workshops are ongoing on a regular basis and risk register reflects latest information.

4. Continuous cost/schedule forecasting (monitor changes, issues, trends) using probabilistic techniques (incorporate non-technical risk when necessary).

5. Provide accurate monthly cost reports, monthly progress updates, and forecast completions, together with the critical path and trend analyses.

6. Ensure contract pricing and administration instructions are aligned with the cost breakdown structure.

7. Ensure the contractor key dates and milestones are aligned with Company plan in the overall integrated plan

Review scope change requests for the total installed cost & schedule impact.

8. Present project updates (cost, schedule, risk) to Project Leadership Team and Corporate Functions in SPDC.

Facilitate communication with Venture Partners (TECOM, DEVCOM, OPCOM) and Project DRB.

9. Accountable for driving delivery to TQ across the project and focal point for Project Execution Plan (PEP).

Facilitate key assurance events (PER), participate in assurance events in EMEA region.

10. Annual Work Programme and Budget preparation Cost control / Tender Board input / Funding analysis/Benchmarking/Supporting Analysis.

11. To be the focal point for originating monthly presentations to the Senior Management and coordinating input on Shell Group Audits, Reviews and Improvement Initiatives.

12. Participate fully in SPDC=PTE/SEMA Leadership Team activities as a member.

Significant Influence on CAPEX spend of more than $1.0bln

Subordinates – Planning, Cost Engineering, Interface & Risk Management and Administration/Management Reporting resources.

Interfaces (External): Major contractors, JV Partners (NAPIMS, NAOC and Total). Interfaces (Internal): Central Project Services team & other Project Services Leads.

QUALIFICATIONS – Minimum Bachelors degree in engineering or related technical field with at least 15 years experience in upstream EP projects. – Experience with Upstream projects, subsea and surface facilities

A strong Cost Engineering/Risk Management/Planning & Scheduling background. – Experience in working in Brown field environment and managing uncertainties. – Working knowledge of probabilistic cost and schedule risk analysis. – Minimum of 10 years industry experience in project services management positions. – Experience in managing multi discipline teams of senior project services personnel. – Track record in dealing with stakeholders (venture partners). – Track record of integrating technical and non-technical risks in forecasting project outcomes. – A high degree of skill in written and oral communications. – Experience in managing major EPC contracts. – Familiar with project development challenges in Nigeria or in other regions with similar challenges. – Ability to visibly demonstrate personal and company HSE commitment. – Self-starter with excellent people, communication and integration skills. – Commercially astute with high degree of understanding of market conditions
