Job Title: Senior Reservoir Engineer

Location: Nigeria (Lagos, Benin City, Warri) and Zurich

Organisation: Atlantic Energy – Nigeria

Purpose of the role:

•   Responsible for anticipating, managing and controlling ALL reservoir based analysis and project planning on all capital projects and joint ventures, by ensuring accurate and current data & analysis of all reservoir related information

•   Coordinate and manage the Joint Venture and projects and reporting to the Site Manager and COO ensuring complete and accurate site assessments and change implementation plans

Responsibilities:

•   Demonstrate ability to use petroleum engineering principles to solve problems and identify enhancement opportunities

•   Strong background in reservoir engineering and pattern management practices

•   Good overall practical oilfield operations knowledge

•   Expertise in working with geoscientists, and production and facilities engineers

•   Proficiency in using PC and expertise in using commonly used reservoir engineering, and EOR software must have working knowledge of Production Management Software DSS

•   Strong interpersonal skills for working in multi-disciplinary and multi- cultural project teams

•   Project management of outsourced reservoir engineering studies

•   Planning and execution of technical programs in conjunction with drilling/well operations and geoscience teams

•   Technical input/support to appraisal and new field development planning

•   Monitoring production and injection performance on existing fields to optimise production and maximise recovery

•   Construct reservoir simulation models to ensure proper management of reservoirs, including the design of well locations and preparing production profiles

•   Oversee the implementation of approved plans for appraisal and development

•   Formulate production policies and ensuring they are complied with

•   Construct reservoir surveillance plans, including the design and implementation of well tests, and managing data from surveys

•   Adding value through the innovative application of new technologies

•   Manage and Co-ordinate all reserves reporting

•   Carry out Quality Assurance, Quality Control and peer assist initiatives            

Key competencies/experience required:

•   At least fifteen (15) years post qualifying experience with not less than ten (10) years in a managerial position in the upstream Oil and Gas Industry.

•   Experience of reservoir modeling, field development planning, and reserves reporting.

•   Experience in constructing reservoir simulation models, designing well locations, and optimizing well profiles, estimating production availability, and designing and implementing well tests, would all be useful.

•   Analytical skills are critical, particularly with respect to constructing reservoir surveillance plans and interpreting the resultant data.

•   Should have excellent leadership, communication and coaching skills, as well as sound business awareness and experience of leading multidisciplinary projects.

•   Experience working in West Africa or preferably in Nigeria would be an advantage.

•   Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, or equivalent, is required; an advanced degree is preferred.

•   Expertise in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) software

•   Has experience in managing team an coaching junior staff

•   Has experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams

•   Well-developed report writing and presentation preparation and delivery skills, Strong appreciation of project management skills with ability to multi task and function effectively under pressure

•   Very Strong leadership with excellent negotiating and influencing skills.

•   Ability to think strategically and holistically and provide direction and coaching to the team

•   Results oriented with a high sense of responsibility, accountability and dependability.

•   Strong analytical and problem solving skills with business and financial acumen.

•   Excellent relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills. Political savvy, diplomacy, maturity and tact including the ability to relate with a diversity of people.

•   Strong business ethics and high level of integrity

Qualifications:

•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering

•   Petroleum Engineering advanced degree (preferred)
