Scholarship Description: The American Center at U.S. Embassy Dhaka is pleased to announce that the United States government will offer several grants for a fully-funded master's degree in the U.S. through the Fulbright Foreign Student Program. Preferred candidates include junior faculty from Bangladeshi universities and junior to mid-level employees of research organizations, think tanks, NGOs, and other related organizations.

Number of award(s): The program is extremely selective -in previous years, six to seven grants have been made after hundreds of applications were received and reviewed. It is anticipated that three of the grants this year will be awarded in the hard sciences, although the American Center reserves the right to revise all arrangements as necessary.

What does it cover? Fulbright grant provisions include: round-trip airfare, tuition and related academic fees, a monthly stipend for room, board, and incidental expenses, a book allowance, health and accident insurance, travel allowance, and excess baggage allowance.

How to Apply: Applicants are requested to submit the online application. Detailed

instructions on how to fill out the online application form, as well as the link to the online application site are available here

Prospective candidates must also submit the following supplemental forms by June 2:

1. Please scan and upload copies of Academic Transcripts; Certificates from each post-secondary institution (Bachelor's and Master's); Academic Records Information Form; and the Signature Form into the application. Please note that prospective candidates are not required to submit hard copies of supplemental forms to the American Center.

2. Three Letters of Reference – Reference letters must also be submitted online.

3. Standardized Testing Requirements

a. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): A valid and competitive TOEFL score is required for all successful candidates. If an applicant has a TOEFL score at the time of application, it should be submitted with the application materials—however, if a candidate does not have this score at the time of application, he or she is not required to take the TOEFL prior to selection for the program. Instead, the American Center will arrange testing for preliminarily selected candidates.

b. GRE/GMAT: Similarly, a competitive GRE or GMAT score is required for admission to a master's program in the U.S. If applicants already have such a score, those results should be submitted along with the application. Again, if an applicant has not yet taken these tests, the American Center can arrange testing for preliminarily selected candidates.
