Job Description: The Storage Operations resident is responsible for the storage configuration and operations management, along with daily storage management tasks in a complex environment. The typical environment for these residents contains one or two of the platforms of EMC storage hardware, EMC software, and other infrastructure products.  This role will be responsible for ongoing improvement of processes and applying best practices for the environment, set by EMC standard.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Shares ownership of operational responsibility for storage provisioning and availability at the customer site(s) with the Customer Storage Manager.

•   Provisions storage based on standardized procedures detailed in the Operational Run Book and to meet customer agreed upon standards.

•   Responsible for configuration and layout of storage infrastructure.

•   Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with EMC and customer's change management policies.

•   Performs necessary data migration as required and defined by EMC's migration practices.

•   Provides analysis of Environment and Best Practice knowledge transfer.

•   Generate Regular operations reports using customer supplied tools, such as EMC Control Center.

•   Recommend changes to procedures which result in operational optimization.

•   Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews when applicable.

Desired Skills & Experience:

•   H/W : EMC Symmetrix VMAX

•    SRDF,THIN, FAST,  TimeFinder, VNX, CX Series, VNX block & File

•   Migration : Open Replicator or Open Migrator or RecoverPoint.

•   SAN Switches : Brocade and Cisco MDS Series

•   Strong consultative skills      

•   Cross-Functional skill

•   Proficiency in EMC hardware, software and/or operating systems environments

•   Knowledge of job associated programming and scripting languages

•   Possesses strong product/technology/industry knowledge

•   Knowledge of job associated database/software/documentation

EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

5+ years in a storage / technology operations environment

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

•   Archive, Centera  a plus

•   ECC and SRM suits a plus
