Position Description:
. Review and vetting of court processes and pleadings served on the Bank in matters where the Bank is the Defendant.
2. Providing preliminary legal opinions on new suits filed against the Bank and updating such opinions from time to time based on developments in the suits.
3. Preparing the Bank's defence and procuring relevant documentation and information required to support the Bank's case in court.
4. Preparing letters of instruction to external Solicitors, liaison with the Solicitors and monitoring their handling of the matters involving the Bank.
5. Preparing the Bank's witnesses for court sessions and pre-trial conferences.
6. Attending meetings between the Banks, other parties and their Solicitors for purposes of exploring amicable resolution of pending suits where such option appears feasible.
7. Managing Clients' complaints, claims and correspondence referred to the Legal Department on various matters which could lead to potential litigation.
8. Attending court to monitor proceedings in suits involving the Bank.
