Nigerian High Commission, London UK - There has been a notice released by the Federal Government of Nigeria that the validity of Nigerian Machine Readable Passport (MRP) has been extended beyond 30 April, 2011, until further notice.

This implies that the replacement of the old MRP with the new, e-Passport will continue while the former will remain valid for travel and other purposes beyond the April 30 Deadline.

Even though the validity of MRP has been extended, I will advise those that are still holding this type of Passport to take the advantage and renew as soon as possible. Because sooner or later, most immigration borders will not accept it anymore. Wise up!
