SACEMA is a national research Centre of Excellence, funded by the Department of Science & Technology, administered by the National Research Foundation and hosted by Stellenbosch University. As a national centre, SACEMA funds students working in Biostatistics and Mathematical Biology & Epidemiology. SACEMA's work focuses on the mathematical modelling of disease transmission and progression, particularly in relation to South Africa's major health challenges.

The following full-time bursaries are offered:
➤ Master's (R70 000 per annum for two years)
➤ Doctoral (R100 000 per annum for three years).

Students from the following fields are welcome to apply:
• Mathematics
• Biostatistics
• Community & Public Health.

However, other students who want to work in the area of mathematical epidemiology are also welcome to contact us.
