Job Title: Petroleum Engineering Manager

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Company: Aspen Energy Nigeria Ltd.

Education:   

•   Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geosciences or Applied Sciences is required.

•   Post Graduate degree would be an added advantage.   

Experience: Minimum of 15 years E&P experience working on multiple projects and operations, in a client/ operator environment at a senior level.

Purpose:

•   The focus of this position is to maintain full hydrocarbon resource base of all subsurface assets. Initiate new, mature and execute hydrocarbon development opportunities and projects.

•   Develop and execute well and reservoir management strategies and plans necessary to maximize hydrocarbon production and economic recovery.

•   The Candidate for this position is to team up with other Senior business leaders to ensure alignment of the responsibilities as indicated below to achieve the strategic corporate vision of the organization with year on year delivery of business targets.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

•   To lead and manage petroleum-engineering activities, ensuring that integrated field appraisal and development activities deliver maximum economic production and ultimate recovery from hydrocarbon portfolio.

•   To manage hydrocarbon maturation process from identification to execution ensuring that business plans are underpinned by high quality production forecast and targets are achieved year on year.

•   In collaboration with business leaders, drive the alignment of short and long term drilling and well completion sequence as well as production optimization activities to achieve strategic fit with business aspirations.

•   Build and maintain a strong Petroleum engineering capability through development of staff skills and competency, sharing of best practices and deployment of modern tools, technology and processes.

•   Custodian of all subsurface assets (Contingent Resources, Reserves, reservoir data, models, logs etc)

•   Supervise, manage and maintain functional leadership of all petroleum engineers and technical work carried out by contractors.

•   Perform technical work as a petroleum engineer as required and responsible for maintaining an overview of all petroleum engineering issues.

Competencies Required:

•   Expertise in oil and gas Integrated reservoir modeling (static and dynamic), integrated field review and development planning and execution.

•   Understanding and sound knowledge of Petroleum engineering data acquisition planning, interpretation and application (open-hole and cased-hole logs, Cores, PVT, Well Tests).

•   Broad Knowledge of Petroleum engineering tools (i.e. – Eclipse, OFM, GEM/IMEX, Saphire, Techlog, Petroleum Expert, IPM suite and Petrel) with depth application and expertise in at least one discipline set of tools is mandatory.

•   Current capability with reservoir engineering interpretation and modelling software.

•   Experienced in application of statistical methods for rock parameter distribution, stochastic volumetric estimation, field development planning and economic valuation is desirable.

•   Mastery of at least One Petroleum Engineering Discipline with demonstrable leadership in major projects delivery.

•   Study and operational experience of gas and gas condensate field appraisal, development and operation is desirable.

•   Strong inter-personal skills proven good leadership, change capacity, networking, communication and facilitation skills.

•   Broad knowledge and experience in handling technical, commercial and relational issues in balancing diverse objectives and aspirations.

Our Client, a leading Nigerian independent integrated energy company, currently playing in the downstream sector of the Petroleum Industry now wishes to set up an E&P Company with the aim of acquiring, developing and producing oil & gas assets safely and efficiently for the benefits of all stakeholders. The company aspires to grow in Nigeria and rapidly expand to the Gulf of Guinea, South and East Africa over the next ten years.
