Post by: scholarscope on Apr 02, 2011, 04:42 PM
(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2618253/ForumPhotos/Institute%20of%20International%20Education_iie-logo.png) The Mattel Children's Foundation is proud to sponsor a scholarship program designed to assist and encourage children of Mattel employees worldwide to pursue higher education. Scholarships are offered for full-time study at a college, university or vocational school, in any country of the student's choice. Mattel Children's Foundation scholarships recognize and support the scholastic potential of students who desire an advanced education. The Foundation believes that education is an important tool in realizing individual achievements and enhancing society. This scholarship is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), a not-for-profit organization that specializes in scholarship program administration worldwide.

ELIGIBILITY

•   Dependent children of regular full-time and part-time employees who have a minimum of six months employment with the company as of the application deadline date are eligible to apply for scholarship assistance.
•   Children of employees who hold a title of vice president or higher are not eligible to apply for these awards.
•   Students who are currently enrolled in post-secondary programs or will be enrolled before April 30, 2011 are eligible to apply.
•   Official proof of admission to a recognized educational institution is required before scholarship funds become available.
•   All fields of study are acceptable under these scholarships if offered at recognized universities or vocational schools.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

•   IIE will select successful scholarship recipients on the basis of information contained in applications and accompanying documentation.
•   IIE may select scholarship recipients without final evidence of acceptance by an educational institution, although no award can take effect until such evidence is presented.
•   A scholarship recipient who is not able, within a reasonable period of time, to produce such evidence satisfactorily to IIE may be passed over in favor of an alternate candidate.
•   In no instance will personnel of Mattel, Inc., Mattel Children's Foundation or any subsidiary participate in the selection process.
•   The number and size of awards granted is based on the number of applications received and the funds available for scholarship distribution.
