Job Title: Discipline Engineer Pre-Commissioning/Project

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Employer: Sea Trucks Group (STG)

Reports to:

•   Construction Manager (Functional);

•   Engineering Manager (Temporary);

•   Project Manger (Project Driven).

Liaises with:

•   Construction Department;

•   QHSE Department;

•   Offshore Construction Manager;

•   Procurement Department;

•   Engineering Department;

•   Project Manager;

•   Pre-commissioning Coordinator.

Directs: Site Rigging Supervisor, Technicians, Equipment Operators, Discipline Engineers.

Responsible for:

Pre-commissioning

•   To ensure that all pre-commissioning activities are carried out with highest regard to the health and safety of all personnel and protection of the environment;

•   To ensure that all pre-commissioning work is undertaken in accordance with the company management system and project specific documentation;

•   To identify personal training needs, bring them to the attention of management and take full advantage of the training opportunity provided;

•   To fully familiarise himself with the contractual and technical content of a project prior to commencing any planning;

•   Ensure that equipment and consumables selected are suitable for the work and are complete;

•   Continual quest to improve project performance thus maintaining a competitive edge for further development. This may include identification of new methods and technology and cost reductions;

•   Oversee reporting, processing, plotting and fair drawing of project charting requirements. To vet final and arrange for timely dispatch;

•   Maintain close liaison with line management;

•   Adherence to company management system (CMS) applicable to his field of responsibility;

•   Proposing optimisation and improvements in his area of responsibility.

Project Engineering

•   Timely completion of engineering deliverables within man-hour budget;

•   Technical preparations for the project;

•   Ensuring that these preparations result into cost efficient project execution in accordance with contractual, legislative, regulatory, company, commercial requirements;

•   "Fitness for purpose" of project deliverables, based on contractual specifications;

•   Concept and method for fabrication, transportation, construction and installation;

•   Ensuring that technical concept and method is in accordance with common industrial standard practice;

•   Applying company's technical expertise is to the maximum extent;

•   Engineering support during execution phase of the project (fabrication, offshore);

•   Compilation and finalisation of As-Built Records Dossier;

•   Adherence to Company Management System (CMS) applicable to his field of responsibility.

Authorised to:

•   Prepare/review pre-commissioning deliverables;

•   Perform technical communication with subcontractors/vendors;

•   Deputise for the Pre-commissioning coordinator;

•   Approve engineering deliverables;

•   Perform technical communication with client and subcontractors.

Education and Training:

•   Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng);

•   Ordinary National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (OND);

•   Basic and Advanced Microsoft Word;

•   BOSIET certification;

•   Meter recertification Procedures;

•   PDMS Package training;

•   Risk Assessment and Control Course;

•   CASHES awareness Course;

•   Valid Medical certification.

Experience:

•   6 years experience in the Oil and Gas sector;

•   Knowledge & Skills;

•   A team player and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;

•   Ability to proactively plan for potential problem scenarios;

•   Good knowledge of Company Management System and ensuring compliance to quality, safety, health, environment and safety (QHSES) requirements;

•   Good knowledge of relevant software;

•   Practical and theoretical knowledge of engineering, installation, testing and commissioning of offshore pipelines and structures;

•   Good knowledge of the English language both written and spoken;

•   Must be' solutions-oriented' and able to identify key issues and patterns in complex situations.
