The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) is now accepting applications for Fulbright advanced degree grants for 2011.  USEFP is a bi-national commission dedicated to improving mutual understanding between the people of Pakistan and the people of the United States of America through educational exchange opportunities.  Since 1951, the USEFP has sent more than 2200 Pakistanis to the U.S. and brought 800 Americans to Pakistan on educational exchange programs.  The USEFP is one of 51 Fulbright Commissions worldwide and is the largest Fulbright program in the world.

The Fulbright program is sponsored by the U.S. government and provides participants – chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential – with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research at universities or academic institutions in the United States.   For Pakistan, the Fulbright program funds tuition at an accredited university in the U.S., as well as required textbooks, airfare, a living stipend, and health insurance. Women, minorities, people with disabilities, and students from FATA, NWFP and Baluchistan are strongly encouraged to apply.

Students may apply for a Master's or Ph.D. program. Master's Program applicants must have completed 16 years of formal education. Ph.D. program applicants must have completed 18 years of formal education. The U.S. government works with the Higher Education Commission of the Government of Pakistan to promote and support this program.

All disciplines are eligible, with the exception of clinical medical fields. Priority fields for these scholarships are:

    * Energy
    * Water and Environmental Management

Fulbright applicants should register to take the GRE test immediately, as this is required for the application. Applications must be received at USEFP by May 18, 2010.
