MTN Nigeria is currently recruiting for the following position:

Job Title: Transmission Core Planning Manager
Department: Network Group
Location: Lagos

Job Description:    
•   Coordinate the design and implementation of the following core transmission projects: National Network Synchronization, Core Network Integration, Backbone Fiber Network expansion & integration, ASON protection, Lambda expansion & optimization, national leased circuits mapping and provisioning, International Traffic dimensioning and provisioning, Integration of National BTS Fiber, Metro Ethernet and Metro SDH aggregation points, etc, into the transmission core layer,.
•   Responsible for developing the optimal national Transmission Core architecture for 2G, 3G, WIMAX, 3G and LTE rollout and integration.
•   In line with central business plan and technology strategy, undertake PPOE presentation, material planning and ordering as it relates Transmission core functions and requirements.
•   Define and direct national core Transmission Infrastructure, Capacity and Redundancy Planning (Blaze fiber, ASON/DWDM, SDH Network plans) to support MTNN rollout.
•   Design and direct implementation of cost effective and efficient transmission topology systems to support GSM rollout
•   Et.c

Job Conditions: General MTN N working conditions. A valid drivers license. Additional working time is usually required on a need basis

Reporting To:   Senior Manager Transmission Planning

Required Skills:   
•   At least eight years work experience, five years of which must be in Telecoms industry, especially in Transmission with specific experience in:
•     General electrical radio engineering, microwave radio transmission at high frequencies, fibre optic transmission networks, datacom engineering , route planning and  connectivity of  logical networks
•   At least three (3) years managerial experience with a telecommunications operator
•   Experience of working on a multi-vendor transmission network environment. Experience on Ericsson, Harris-Stratex and Huawei transmission equipment will be desirable.

Employment Status:    Permanent

Qualification:    B.Sc. in Electrical/ Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering MSC in Telecoms or equivalent would be an advantage
