Job Description: The individual will be part of the EMC IT Storage Group supporting more than 450 EMCs internal applications including Oracle ERP, CRM, Data Warehousing and many more. The candidates will get an opportunity to learn and work with most of the EMC flagship hardware and software products are used like EMC Symmetrix, CLARiioN, Celerra, Control Center, VMware and also Brocade/Cisco SAN products and learn the internals of the environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure that all services are consistently available to the business customers;
• Assist in the development of tools and procedures for better system management;
• Maintain storage and archiving allocations;
• Complete proactive and preventive system upgrades;
• Responsible for deployment of new clients to the existing infrastructure;
• Responsible for assisting in the build of replicated storage infrastructure;
• Monitor and troubleshoot the technical environment for problems;
• Responsible for completing all small storage requests.
Desired Skills & Experience:
• Certificates and working knowledge of Storage platforms under UNIX (preferably SUN Solaris), Linux, and Windows operating systems and network communications;
• Working experience with Storage (EMC Symmetrix and CLARiiON) solutions, Celerra Cisco SAN infrastructure and VMware virtualization solutions. – VMware ESX 5 – VCenter – VMware ESX Servers cluster – VSphere – 200 + VMware Virtual Machines
• EMC product experience or certifications using EMC Symmetrix VMAX, CLARiiON Storage solutions is required;
• SAN (preferably CISCO or Brocade storage SAN) experienc and data migration experience from EMC or non-EMC storage platforms will be an advantage;
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a cohesive global team;
• Ability to work in a matrix, demanding, high-pressure environment;
• Ability to read appropriate diagrams or blueprints.
• Ability to work effectively with senior management
