The School of Mathematics at Cardiff University is offering six PhD studentship in the field of Analysis and Differential Equations, Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Physics, Operational Research and Statistics. Applicants should have a strong first Degree and/or an appropriate Masters level qualification in any area of mathematics or a related subject. The successful applicant will receive full UK/EU tuition fees plus Doctoral Stipend, matching UK Research Council National Minimum (£13,726 p.a. for 2013/14, updated each year). The application deadline is April 20th, 2014.

Eligibility: -Academic Criteria: Applicants should have a strong first Degree and/or an appropriate Masters level qualification in any area of mathematics or a related subject.

-Residency: Full awards (fees plus a maintenance stipend) are open to UK Nationals and EU students who can satisfy UK residency requirements. To be eligible for the full award, EU Nationals must have been in the UK for at least 3 years prior to the start of the course for which they are seeking funding, including for the purposes of full-time education. EU Nationals who do not meet the above residency requirement are eligible for a fees only award, provided that they have been ordinarily resident in the EU for at least 3 years prior to the start of their proposed programme of study.

Scholarship Open for International Students: EU (Non UK), International (Non EU), UK Students can apply for these scholarships.

Scholarship Description: The School of Mathematics at Cardiff University invites applications for 3.5 year research studentships in any of the  Analysis and Differential Equations, Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Physics, Operational Research and Statistics areas. The studentships will be based at Cardiff University, in a lively and vibrant research environment.

Duration of award(s): Scholarships are offered for three years.
