Job Title: Broker/Sales Officer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Employer: Kedari Capital Limited

Reports to: Head, Broker and Head Sales & Distribution

Grade Level: TBD  

Job Summary:

•   Guide Clients about the various investment strategies, which can fetch them great returns in the market

•   Be aware of the major market indicators as well as the minor financial news, trends and highs and lows in the market due to proper stock research and revise their strategies as per the prevailing conditions

•   Inform investors about various risks and sudden changes and fluctuations in the market

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Broker Responsibilities:  

•   Providing investment advice and Recommendations

•   Purchasing new share issues

•   Interpreting financial reports

•   Administering and Evaluating clients' investment holdings

•   Executing orders and securing deals with new clients

•   Liaising with sales teams/clients on market movements

•   Monitoring the international stock markets performance along with the Nigerian Stock Market.

•   Informing all relevant parties of the most relevant trades for the day

•   Deliver all details of the rules and regulations of the market to clients and KSL Staff.  

Sales Responsibilities:

•   Persuading clients to buy or sell.

•   Sourcing for and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients

•   Cater to a variety of clients – retail or local clients, corporate clients and also the institutional clients.

•   Receive instructions directly from clients, placing orders and advising them on market developments and new financial ventures

Competency and Skill Requirements:

•   Numerical and logical ability

•   Attentiveness, interest in the happenings in the financial world, profound knowledge of the capital market and decision-making abilities.

•   Previous experience in the Stock broking industry.  

•   Excellent verbal and written communication skill.

•   Excellent organizational skills.

•   Excellent research/problem solving skills.

•   A good Team player  

Key Performance Indicators:

•   Internal customer satisfaction levels.

•   Quality and timeliness in providing investment advice based on up to date market intelligence and research.

•   Timeliness in executing Clients trades and ensuring that they are 100% error free

•   Minimum Qualifications

•   Chartered Stockbroker (ACS)

•   2 years cognate experience as a chartered broker in a reputable organization with responsibility for securities dealing and portfolio management.

•   Bachelors or Postgraduate degree in finance, economics accounting, or any other related field.

•   Requisite licenses/membership and agreement with the Nigerian stock exchange and is expected to follow all the rules of the exchange.
