Research Master Students:

Tuition fees for the academic year 2010/2011 are as follows:
€ 1,672 for European Economic Area (EEA) citizens
€ 10,506 for non-EEA citizens

Due to to generous subsidies, excellent students from non-European Economic Area countries will receive substantial waiver reductions of up to €7,956, so that only the legal minimum fee of € 2,550 is paid.

During the first year, non-Dutch Research Master students are responsible for their own sources of income. However, we do have a limited number of scholarships available to good students.

PhD Candidates:

As PhD candidates at CentER are considered employees of Tilburg University they will receive a starting salary of approximately €2,4001 (gross per month). This salary increases yearly to achieve the final salary of approximately €3,1001 (gross per month). This salary is based on a structure determined by collective bargaining agreements between Tilburg University and the labor unions representing University employees. For detailed information on salary scales, contact the Personnel Office of the Faculty.

1 Please note: This amount is based on a monthly salary, plus holiday and year-end bonus monies.

PhD candidates at CentER are expected to contribute to teaching or research and occasionally to serve as mentors to Research Master students. These obligations generally occupy about 15% of the student's time, and in no case will they exceed 25% of their time. All PhD students will receive adequate training in preparation of these tasks.

For excellent non-Dutch students a number of scholarships are available; namely full Koopmans scholarships of €1000 net per month, or partial scholarships of €420 net per month.

In 2009/2010,  ten "Koopmans" scholarships and fifty-six partial scholarships were awarded. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and always include a tuition waiver for non-EEA students.

Students joining the programme in the second Research Master year are eligible for these scholarships as well.

For the PhD phase, a salary is available.

All applicants who want to be considered for a scholarship and/or tuition fee waiver should have submitted their completed applications by 1st February 2010.
