WHAT ARE THE PROGRAMME GOALS?

Under its research focus on "Future Megacities - Energy- and cli-mate-efficient structures in urban growth centres" the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) funds international collaborative projects in which German scientists and researchers an practitioners work together with partners in Vietnam, India, China, Iran, Peru, South Africa, Ethiopia and Morocco on drawing up and implement-ing solution-orientated, innovative strategies for selected cities.

The special programme on "Study and Research Scholarships of To-day for the Megacities of Tomorrow" is also financed from the budget of the BMBF and offers highly-qualified postdocs, senior scientists and senior experts from the above-mentioned countries the oppor-tunity to study or do research in project-relevant subject areas.

The studies and research should be carried out at German universi-ties that are contributing to the collaborative projects. The collabora-tive projects, the project-relevant subject areas, the contributing German universities, and the respective contact partners can be found in the Annex.
