Main Responsibilities: – Ensures the forensic analysis of the context by maintaining an overview on the forensic situation in Nigeria, particularly for relevant population in the Northeast – Works effectively within relevant programmes to advance issues related to forensic science, in particular the management of the dead from armed conflict – Organising of training courses and field visits in the area covered by the position. – Assists in the implementation of ICRC's Forensic Strategy and activities related to this file. – Organises workshops on management of human remains to various target populations – Assists in the dissemination of the organisations' communications on forensic science and humanitarian action

Required Qualifications: – Forensic practitioner holding a Masters' Degree or equivalent in Medical, Biological or Forensic Sciences. – 3-4 years professional experience in similar field activity. – Forensic dissemination experience and skills and capacity to adapt the message to diverse audiences; – Practice in the field of forensic sciences and humanitarian practice; – Commitment towards highest forensic scientific and ethical standards; – Good command of written and spoken English and speaking Kanuri, and Hausa would be a strong asset. – Good computer skills, good command of standard software and knowledge of internet search. – Good knowledge of geographically assigned environment.

In exceptional circumstances demonstrated handling human remains in mortuaries, cemeteries, hospitals and at death scenes where ICRC may be requested to provide hands-on support.
