Functions:
• The Senior IT Officer will provide support and maintenance to FHI Nigeria computer and network infrastructure to ensure stable operations. S/He will be responsible for all IT related equipment and software that is part of the FHI-Nigeria inventory. S/He will take appropriate steps in solving problems, or where necessary, in identifying suitable vendors capable of solving them.
• The Senior IT Officer will support the design and implementation of new IT solutions to improve business efficiency and productivity
• With the AD IT, oversee the management of Information technology to include local area network, services, PC's, printers, troubleshoot network and server software problems, including e-mail/internet systems.
• Perform software installations and upgrades as required and ensure virus prevention and perform updates as required on all computers.
• Provide IT training on a periodic basis to FHI/Nigeria staff and to partner organizations and assist in planning and implementation of IT related projects introduced by FHI HQ offices.
Qualifications:
• BS/BA degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or its recognized equivalent with 5 – 7 years post national youth service relevant experience
• Or MS/MA Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or its recognized equivalent, and 3 – 5 years post national youth service relevant experience
• Candidate must possess Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certifications.
• Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage
• Experience with a multi-site network (at least 3 sites) with a minimum of 200 users is highly desirable.
