Role Summary/Purpose:
Field Engineers provide on site technical direction and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning and maintenance to customer owned power generation and industrial facilities

Essential Responsibilities:
* Power generation includes customer owned utilities, marine drives, industrial power plants and nuclear power plants utilizing gas and steam turbines
* Industrial facilities include power generation, marine, petrochemical, paper, steel, automotive and transportation industries
* Prepares job-planning documents that define in the scope of outage to be performed through engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions
* Liaises effectively with Service Manager utilizing customers' CTQ in job planning and execution
* Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites
* Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards
* Knowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintages
* Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages
* Troubleshoot mechanical operations and maintenance problems in the steam and/or gas turbine technologies

Qualifications/Requirements:
* 2+ years in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering
* Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver's license
* Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management

Desired Characteristics:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
* Significant travel with no restrictions and must have the ability to perform night work as required to meet business needs
* Able to take long term assignments at customer power plant sites
