Job Title: Chief Operating Officer

Job description:  – The Chief Operating Officer will take responsibility for the operational processes within Spark.ng and the 9 portfolio companies currently under its portfolio. This role will require someone with a rare combination of IT and automation skills with operational practicality, who can design process flows which work within the ambiguity which exists when running a business in Nigeria. Key to this position will be local knowledge of the supply chain in Nigeria, good technical skills but also the ability to simplify as much as possible to produce flow charts and processes which will be able to be followed by the staff. Equally, forward thinking will be required in order to ensure the processes and procedures implemented are robust enough to support expansion. – The Head of Operations will plan, direct, and manage operations to ensure timely design, procurement and installation of services that meet or exceed specified quality standards at minimum cost.

THE ROLE: The primary objective will be developing and executing an operational strategy, which reliably delivers low cost and high quality services. You will be responsible for working cross-functionally and proactively to plan, direct and drive operations. The successful candidate also has responsibility for coordinating capital project strategy and execution, design, project management, process engineering, and integration with sales operations.  You will collaborate with the various departments to align operational capabilities with short and long-term client needs.

Salary: $40,000 to $50,000 Relocation to Lagos is required and candidates will be supported by an accommodation being provided.

Desired Skills and Experience:

To be considered for this role, you must have: – At least 5 years' experience within an operations management role. – Technical knowledge, the ability to analyse data and present in-depth findings – A degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Economics or a related discipline

Other Requirements:

•   Develop strategies, policies, and plans that enable accomplishment of Company's aggressive growth goals and objectives

•   Create and implement the Company's Business Systems model – "an Operational Excellence business" model with focus on "operationalizing" business processes to support scale up and excellence for the company

•   Define and build the corporate business processes which support growth and profitability as the company moves from a start-up to a mature operation

•   Drive and promote performance improvement through operational excellence and efficiency

•   Direct and manage all operations to ensure the timely and cost effective installation of projects that adhere to quality standards

•   Collaborate with the Chief Operations Officer to negotiate client contracts, maintain client relationships and resolve client issues.

•   Identify improvement opportunities within all operational areas with the ultimate goals of improving outcomes

•   Creating systems and processes to improve operations

•   Identifying areas of opportunity within the organization to incorporate new IT solutions

•   Develop all reports necessary to assure effective and efficient operations performance
