Job Title: Field Engineer
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Employer: Sea Trucks Group (STG)
Reports to:
• Construction Department Manager (Onshore);
• Offshore Construction Manager (Offshore).
Liaises with:
• Project & Construction Engineers (Office);
• Project Team (Offshore).
Responsible for:
• Timely completion of assigned engineering tasks;
• Quality of prepared engineering deliverables, i.e. in accordance with contractual, legislative, regulatory, company requirements;
• "Fitness for purpose" of engineering deliverables;
• Adherence to Company Management System (CMS) applicable to his field of responsibility;
• Proposing optimisation and improvements in his area of responsibility;
• Liaising with the Senior Project Engineer or Offshore Construction Manager about project matters during offshore activities;
• Engineering support during execution phase of the project (fabrication and installation, offshore);
• Effective use of the PTW System;
• Technical liaising with client and subcontractors during offshore activities;
• Supporting the OCM on all technical matters pertaining to the work offshore;
• Ensuring that work carried out offshore is in accordance with the approved procedures and technical specifications;
• Liaising with the Construction Engineers and Project Engineers where additional engineering is needed offshore.
Authorised to:
• Request for input for preparation of assigned engineering deliverable;
• Key performance indicator;
• Successful completion of offshore project.
Education and Training:
• Bachelor Degree in relevant engineering discipline;
• Relevant offshore training;
• Knowledgeable in international codes and standards.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in offshore engineering.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of engineering, installation, testing and commissioning of offshore pipelines and structures;
• Good knowledge of Company Management System (CMS) ensuring compliance to quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE) requirements;
• Good knowledge of the English language both written and spoken;
• Ability to work in a team and co-ordinate activities;
• Prepared to work offshore;
• Must be' solutions-oriented' and able to identify key issues and patterns in complex situations.
