Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Officer

Employer: International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA)

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable candidates for the position of Strategic Sourcing Officer at its Headquarters in Ibadan.

Duties:

Successful candidate will among other things perform the following:

•   Assist in strategic sourcing initiatives of the institute

•   Perform the Strategic Sourcing duties of the Assistant Head Supply Chain while absent or on leave

•   Raise request for quotations (RFQs), requests for information (RFIs) and other templates;

•   Locate potential and reliable suppliers capable of creating and delivering value

•   Send, receive and analyse responses of requests for proposals to potential suppliers

•   Benchmark suppliers' portfolios and review suppliers' performance

•   Develop sourcing strategy/model and sourcing initiatives;

•   Compile, analyze and interpret suppliers' performance reports on regular basis with basic key Performance indicators.

•   Participate in procurement planning

•   Negotiation of relevant contract terms and conditions

•   Assist and coordinate strategic sourcing initiatives for other stations

•   Progressing and monitoring outstanding orders to ensure delivery of actual needs

•   Assist in the management of the supply chain web-site

•   Maintain Strategic partners files and other documentations

•   Draft of Memorandum of Understanding for strategic partners

•   Assist in editing of supply chain newsletter

•   Review and assist in the development of specifications, terms and conditions.

•   Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification and Experience:

•   BSc /HND in Purchasing and Supply or related fields.

•   A professional certification of CIPS I or II with a minimum of 3 years experience.

The ideal candidate must possess:

•   Good knowledge of contract agreement

•   Excellent computer skills with good grasp of spreadsheets, word processing and other MS office applications

•   Excellent English reporting, writing and oral communication skills

•   Strong ability to co-ordinate, prioritise and organize workload; take initiative and work under pressure

•   Good team spirit and also participate as a team member in accomplishment of duties
