Job Title: Lead Instrumentation Engineer

SERVICE DIMENSIONS:

• Provide instrumentation discipline knowledge and experience to the DW ECP engineering team.

• Lead a team of instrumentation discipline engineers and designers.

ACTIVITIES:

• Carry out preliminary, basic, and detailed instrumentation engineering studies and produce associated deliverables, e.g. MTOs, datasheets, cable routes, drawings, control philosophies, SAFE charts, etc.

• Supervise and be responsible for the activities of instrumentation discipline engineers, including delegation of works and management of individuals' workloads.

• Review instrumentation discipline engineering deliverables to ensure technical quality.

• Review designs produced by COMPANY or contractors to ensure compliance with COMPANY instrumentation general specifications and applicable project instrumentation specifications.

• Develop and contribute to equipment specifications for procurement purposes.

• Review of subcontractor instrumentation deliverables to ensure technical quality.

• Read and interpret facility engineering drawings and make necessary modifications or recommendations.

• Advise on instrumentation related issues, including suggesting technical solutions to problems, identifying best practices, etc.

• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers of instrumentation and other equipment and materials to ensure technical specifications are understood and met.

• Prepare and cross-check relevant procedures, international standards and COMPANY technical specifications for application into design activities.

CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT:

• Work location: Based in Lagos with regular site visits offshore. Major client is DW FO departments.

• Constraints: Mistakes and delays in design could lead to costly delays in procurement, construction and ultimately production, which would have serious negative impact on TUCN Assets.

• Favourable Factors: TUCN assets represent technically challenging projects. Numerous contacts with process and other discipline experts elsewhere in the Deep Water District and in France. Relative freedom to utilise own work methods and practices.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Ensure effective and timely response to instrumentation technical problems and execution of instrumentation activities.

• Verify instrumentation engineering and design deliverables comply with COMPANY general specifications and applicable project instrumentation specifications.

• Supervise and motivate instrumentation disciplines in the section in order to achieve satisfactory results.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum Qualification: University Degree in instrumentation or electrical engineering with 10 to 15 years experience in Oil & Gas production facilities.

• Familiarity with international standards and regulations.

• Team work, commitment to technical accuracy, ability to organise and execute works unassisted.

• Use of MS-Office and AutoCAD with an experience in project specifications could be added advantage
