Job Title: Data Centre and Power (Team Member)

Our client is one of the first banks to have been established in Nigeria and has a wide network of branches

An exciting opportunity exists for a team in the Data Centre & Power unit, to support the Team Lead, Infrastructure in meeting the team's strategic goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

•   Design, implementation and maintenance of the power backup infrastructure of the Bank

•   Participates in planning, engineering, and designing the infrastructure of the Bank

•   Ensure the configuration of SNMP on UPS and Inverters for effective monitoring by Solar Wind

•   Ensure UPS and inverter management bankwide

•   Recommend and Supervise the deployment and installation of inverters and UPS bankwide

•   Supervise the regional Vendors on power backup

•   Responsible for the Clean power cabling bankwide

•   Keep the inventory of UPS, Inverters and AVR bankwide

•   Ensure quarterly preventive maintenance, services and (or) repairs of Power backup equipment

•   Liaise with vendors to sustain the SLA the bank has with them

•   Provide First level support and repair for bankwide power backup infrastructure

•   Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Infrastructure Manager

•   Prepare documents to put tenders out for Contractors

•   Project Management and supervising and coordinating work of contractors

•   Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise

•   Provide manuals for the effective handling of backup power equipment

•   Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of

•   nature and user abuse

Requirements:

•   Minimum of 4 – 7 years cognate Engineering or IT experience in a medium to large size bank/ financial  institution

•   Good technology related university degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or Numeric  Science; Certifications on Power related  disciplines

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•   Expert knowledge of power equipment

•   Adequate  knowledge of current equipment  and technologies in use

•   Working knowledge of inverters, ups, AVR etc

•   Ability to communicate  technical/ complex information both verbally and in writing

•   Organisation and coordination skills

•   Ability to perform tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively
