Paying for higher education is hard. Fortunately, many organizations offer undergraduate scholarships for African students to access their college education without any difficulty. The undergraduate scholarships for African students are available with a wide range of disciplines such as engineering, medicine, statistics, law, human rights, public administration, management, communication, etc. African students who want to upgrade their education internationally can avail various undergraduate scholarships and grants offered by the prominent universities. These undergraduate scholarships will cover tuition fees, accommodation expenses and various allowances. Examples of some of the good financial resources available for African students are listed below.

International Students Academic Merit Scholarship for African Students

 (http://www.etsu.edu/honors/international/internationalstudentscholarships/)East Tennessee State University is offering International Students Academic Merit Scholarship for African students seeking undergraduate degree. The scholarship covers 50 percent of the total of in and out-of-state tuition and maintenance fees only. Online application deadlines are 1st July 2014 and 1st October 2014.

UWE Bristol Academic Merit Undergraduate Scholarships for African Students

The application deadline is 11 September 2014.

International Scholarship Scheme for African Students

Undergraduate scholarships for African students are available for pursuing a full-time course at Southampton Solent University. Scholarship Award of £1,000 towards tuition fee payment for first year of study will be awarded. Applications will close 31 July 2014.

Vice-Chancellor's International High Achiever's Scholarship for African Students

Scholarships cover 50 per cent and 25 per cent tuition fees for the full duration of an Undergraduate coursework degree. Applications must be submitted by June 13, 2014.

Sir Fitzroy MacLean Travel Undergraduate Scholarships for African Students

To be eligible applicants must be a registered student at the University of Glasgow or a student who graduated in the year of application for the scholarship. The value of scholarship varies from £1,150.00 – £1,700.00.  The deadline for applications is 1 June 2014.

INTO St George's Degree Level Undergraduate Scholarships for African Students

Middle East and North Africa Scholarships for Undergraduate Students

One scholarship will be awarded to cover 100% of tuition fees and two scholarships will be awarded to 50% of tuition fees. Application should be submitted till 31 May 2014.

NMG-NUST Joint Scholarship Program for African Students

The scholarship is applied for on a yearly basis. Applicants must have a good academic record and merits. Applications will close on May 31, 2014.

WIT International Student Scholarships for Africans

 (http://www.wit.ie/international/admissions/scholarships)Waterford Institute of Technology is offering undergraduate scholarships for African students. Scholarship will provide a 25% reduction in tuition fees for each year of an undergraduate or a Higher Diploma programme and a reduction of €3150 for all taught Masters programmes. Application should be submitted till 31st May 2014 for September 2014 intake.

Gradlink Undergraduate Scholarships for African Students

Fulbright Junior Staff Development Program for African Students

 (http://tanzania.usembassy.gov/jsd.html)The Embassy of the United States in Dar es Salaam has announced the 2015-2016 Fulbright Junior Staff Development Program for Tanzanian citizens. Scholarship is awarded for maximum of two years. Applicants with no extensive or recent U.S. experience will be given preference. The application deadline is May 1, 2014.

MTS Scholarship Program in Marine Technology, Engineering and Science

An applicant must be either full-time college student cur­rently enrolled in a either a 2-year or 4-year academic program. Applicants must use the scholarship money in the 2014-2015 academic year. Mabel Pingel Undergraduate Scholarship for African Students

 (http://scholarships.uq.edu.au/scholarship/mabel-pingel-scholarship)University of Queensland is offering undergraduate scholarship for African students. The value of scholarship is $962 (approximate, based on the last year of award). The scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit. The tenure of the scholarship shall be one year. The application deadline is 1 April 2014.

James and Everingham Bursary for African Students

 (http://scholarships.uq.edu.au/scholarship/james-and-everingham-bursary)Bursary for African students is available for pursuing undergraduate degree at the University of Queensland in Australia. The amount of the bursary is approximate $500 for the duration of one year. The bursary is awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. Applicants can apply till April 1, 2014.
