The Young Professionals Program offers an exciting career in the World Bank. The Program is designed to attract outstanding, highly qualified, experienced and motivated individuals from around the world, who have demonstrated a commitment to development, supported by academic success, professional achievement and potential for leadership. The Program recruits through a highly selective and competitive process and then facilitates their rapid integration into the World Bank's business and culture.

In order to be competitive for this highly selective Program you must have:
•   minimum three (3) years of relevant professional and  policy-level experience or continued academic study at the doctoral level
•   demonstrated commitment to development, supported by academic success and professional achievements
•   potential for leadership.

The following are minimum qualifications you need to be considered for the Young Professionals Program, although candidates selected tend to exceed these requirements. Please note that no exceptionscan be made for these requirements.
•   Be 32 years of age or younger when entering the YP Program in September 2012 (born on or after September 30, 1979, for this selection year)
•   Have obtained a Master's degree or equivalent at the time of submitting your application (your degree must have been already awarded and you already obtained the Degree Certificate)
•   Have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional and policy-level experience, or continued academic study at the doctoral level
•   Specialize in a field relevant to the World Bank's operationssuch as economics, finance, education, public health, social sciences, engineering, urban planning, and natural resource management
•   Be fluent in English
•   Be fully proficient in one or more of the Bank working languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian and/or Spanish

Every year during the period of May 1 to June 30, applicants are asked to submit their applications for the Young Professionals Program on-line.

HOW TO APPLY:

Once you decide to apply, please make sure that:
•   You meet the minimum qualifications before completing your application to the Young Professionals Program
•   You have all the information at hand including key dates and updated Curriculum Vitae so that you can complete and submit your application in a timely manner to avoid any disruptions with the server connection

In order to ensure a complete review of your candidacy, please make sure that you follow the guidelines below:
•   Answer all questions completely - please note that you must answer all questions marked with an asteriscs (*) as they are required fields
•   Provide the most current contact information.  This information should be valid for a period of one year.  In case your contact information changes during the selection process, please email us the updated data
•   Ensure that you have correctly spelled out your e-mail address, since this will be our main source of communication with you regarding your candidacy
•   Remember to enter your complete phone number (country code + city code + number)   
•   After you answer all the questions attach your detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume in English - please note that the attached CV should be in Microsoft Word (doc) format, and not password protected
•   Bear in mind that only your first application will be considered for the Program.
•   Once you submit your application, you will not be able to make any further changes/update
•   If you do not hear from the Program by the last day of October, 2010 it will be reasonable to assume that you have not been selected for this year's Program
•   Applicants are asked not to contact the Program or Bank staff for information on their application status
